Okay, this is going to be an entry for the real stats nerds out there.

I started keeping track of all of my expenses in 2003, when I was still in college, in a bootleg version of Quicken. Yes, I know… but what college kid is going to spend his non-existent cash on financial software?  Eleven years later, I still keep track of my expenses,… and it’s all still in that bootleg Quicken. I would’ve paid for a new version at some point, I really would’ve!  But the reviews of each subsequent version got so terrible that I could never find a pay version that looked any good. On the plus side, since I’ve been using the same program forever, I can compare my expenses going back over ten years! It’s fun to go back and see what I spent my money on so long ago.
